Christian Cevaer, the World Number 449 and without a top 30 finish in his last 15 tournaments, overcame a star-studded field to win The European Open in Kent The Frenchman, who uses a TaylorMade R9 driver, TaylorMade rescue wood and TaylorMade Monza spider putter, had only won one previous tournament on the European Tour, back in 2004 when he won the Open de España. Hoey and McDowell Back Challenge Ireland

European Tour champions and former Walker Cup team-mates Michael Hoey and Graeme McDowell have backed the Challenge of Ireland which will be played at the Moyvalley Hotel & Golf Resort in Ireland in June. Legends Results – Woosnam and Lyle

Former Ryder Cup captains Ian Woosnam and Sandy Lyle were eighth after the second round of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf Tournament in Savannah in Georgia. The pair, rivals on the European Senior Tour, paired up and followed their first round 10-under-par 62, with a four-under 68. Loren Roberts and Mark Wiebe led the tournament after shooting a second round 61 for a combined total of 19 under-par. Roberts and Wiebe held a one-stroke margin over John Cook and Joey Sindelar after 36 holes of this year’s Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. Woods Announces Birth of Second Child

World number one Tiger Woods and his wife Elin have announced the birth of their second child. The boy, named Charlie Axel, was born on Sunday and is a brother for the Woods’ 19-month old daughter Sam Alexis.
